ARCHITECTURE TO UX
Shenyu Sun
What’s your career background?
I am a landscape architecture master’s student, currently studying in Finland.
What interested you about UX?
Interest: 1) I love the design iteration process in UX, which is really different from architecture-related fields. During the process, I got the chance to ideate and validate the design concepts (or what we call solutions) several times based on user experience and business requirements. 2) There are lots of work opportunities in this field and most of the opportunities only require English. I am currently studying in Finland. Though my major is a really promising career here, I still cant fit in any of the companies because of the language barrier. However, in the UX field, I see potential in my career and also in other European countries. 3) I love to design for people. Through years of design education, I found this thought to become my first motivation when I decide to make a career change. UX is an area where I can really do things for users with real projects.
