PHOTOGRAPHY TO UX

Markus Faber

What’s your career background?

After university and three years as a photography apprentice I became self-employed as a freelance commercial photographer and retoucher for different national and international clients.

What interested you about UX?

My brother introduced me to the field of UX and I quickly fell in love with it, because I really liked the combination of creativity, research and strategy. I am a person who likes to challenge himself and also enjoys to learn something new so starting with UX was kind of an easy decision.

What did you like about Valentin as being your UX mentor?

The thing I liked most about working with Valentin as my mentor was that he always knew what my main goal was: To get a job as a UX Designer. So we focused on that and created a perfectly fitting plan for me.

Did Valentin help you to get a UX role?

Absolutely, he helped me to get a great mindset towards my applications and a lot of self-confidence about my skills in UX. Whenever I had questions or uncertainties, Valentin had the right answers and tips for me.

Would you recommend Valentin as a mentor to others?

If you want to gain some „real“ insights into the UX world, work with a concrete plan and focus on your goals, I would definitely recommend Valentin as a mentor. He is such a great person and I did not only learn a ton of stuff, we also had a lot of fun during our sessions.
